There is something extra special about an intimate girls’ brunch, the laughter, the conversations, the chance to slow down and simply enjoy one another’s company. Malka West Palm Beach created the perfect setting for exactly that.
I recently headed to Malka for a beautiful brunch with the girls, and from the moment we arrived, the restaurant felt warm, artistic and wonderfully different. It is elegant without being stuffy, intimate without feeling too quiet and filled with the kind of thoughtful details that make you want to look around before you even open the menu.
Designed by Kimmel Eshkolot Architects, Malka’s interior is a striking celebration of modern Israeli design. Jerusalem stone-inspired marble, Corten metal details and a dramatic wall created from thousands of perforated concrete blocks give the restaurant texture and personality. Israeli artwork adds the feeling of an intimate gallery, while lush greenery, an outdoor Mediterranean garden and a traditional olive tree soften the space beautifully.
It all feels refined, yet welcoming, which is the perfect atmosphere for catching up with girlfriends over brunch.
Malka’s new Sunday brunch brings the restaurant’s signature Israeli spirit into the daytime, with a menu created for sharing, exploring and lingering around the table. Guests can discover dishes such as shakshuka, latkes, avocado toast with pepper jam and pickled onions, beef tartare and Malka’s famous schnitzel. There is also the crusty Jerusalem bagel, baked in the restaurant’s open wood fire and carrying the comforting aroma of bread made close to the flame.
At the heart of the kitchen is a custom GrillWorks open-fire wood-burning grill, where smoke, fire and carefully sourced ingredients become part of the restaurant’s culinary storytelling. The menu feels fresh and generous, with vegetables, herbs, breads and bold Israeli flavors taking center stage. Even during brunch, you can sense that the flame is part of Malka’s identity.
The drinks add another playful layer to the experience. The beverage program includes cocktails, wine and brunch-worthy sips designed to accompany those long, laughter-filled conversations that make girls’ brunch so necessary. Selections may include Malka’s inventive tahini espresso martini, a golden martini made with olive oil-washed vodka and a collection of French and Israeli wines.
Service throughout the experience was attentive, warm and gracious, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy our time together. That hospitality matters. A restaurant can be stunning and the food can be memorable, but it is the way a place makes you feel that stays with you.
Malka describes itself as more than a restaurant, and that comes through in the experience. It feels like a gathering place, it is one where art, culture, food and community meet around the table.
Our intimate girls’ brunch was a sweet reminder that friendship deserves to be celebrated, even without a special occasion. Sometimes, all you need is a beautiful table, a lovely setting and the women who make life more colorful.
