I am learning that inflammation is actually a real thing when it comes to endometriosis and in general. If you ever feel bloated after a cup of coffee or find yourself using all the energy you get from coffee just to endure its effects (long and intimate trips to the restroom,) you might want to try out these alternatives. I don’t want to oversell these remedies. They make effective replacements. Over time some of them have soothing effects for the inflammation symptoms that you might be experiencing. But I would never describe them as cures for inflammation. Sincerely think of them the way you would think of coffee. They provide a nice two-to-three hour run of energy and relief and that is about it.

1. My highest recommendation is a turmeric latte. It’s usually recommended as a night time drink but I drink it before bed and I start my day with it as well. I immediately noticed the positive effects the first time I tried it when I woke up the following morning.
Ingredients
Ginger root or powder
Coconut Milk or coconut almond milk
Cinnamon
Honey (recently went back to using honey instead of agave because it is a little less souped up and processed, which is the ideal situation when inflammation is a concern.)
Turmeric root or powder
I pretty much throw it all together in a pot and bring it to a boil and toss it into my nutribullet to handle the root ingredients. I usually eyeball my portions. I love spice at the moment so I use a decent size slice of ginger root and an equally generous portion of turmeric.
2. I recommend this when you have a little tea craving but you are trying to stay away from tea due to any caffeine concerns you might have.
Ingredients
Cayenne Pepper
Lemon
Cinnamon
Water
Honey is optional
I pretty much use this in an effort to avoid sugar and caffeine. This is something that I personally feel helps over time. So I wouldn’t expect immediate results. I also know some people use Apple cider vinegar in their tea as well. For some reason, my stomach would feel upset after so I cut it out.

3. As a treat Matcha Tea Latte
There is usually caffeine in this awesome drink. I use matcha tea to help me attempt to give up coffee. For me it’s all about the coconut milk. Even though it has caffeine, it’s a much smaller amount than a normal cup of coffee. There is roughly 25 mg of caffeine in matcha versus 95 mg of caffeine in coffee.
1/4Teaspoon Matcha tea powder
1/4 Hot Water
1/2 Cup Coconut milk
Honey/agave (to your own taste I like mine sweet)
I toss all the ingredients into the nutribullet and that’s pretty much it.
Hopefully this is helpful in someway regardless of what your goals are. Another helpful tip I have read is that some women just slow up on the coffee a week outside of their cycle starting. Some women are only negatively effected by caffeine during their cycle.
